A MEETING POINT BETWEEN FRENCH AND SINGAPOREAN COMMUNITIES : VOILAH! 2015

The annual French Festival in Singapore, Voilah! 2015 is happening now until 21st June 2015.

We can look forward to more than 35 events happening during Voilah! 2015.  We can expect to be ‘wowed’ by French creativity and innovation in culture, science, education and gastronomy.

VOILAH! 2015 HAPPENINGS INCLUDE

Voilah! French Food Festival 2015  – the gastronomic component of the Festival in 65 outlets and online all across Singapore.
More than 50 companies specializing in French gastronomy and F&B products (restaurants, bars, bakeries, retailers, brands) will propose promotions and animations in their premises during this period: Voilah! Special Menus, Oyster nights, discounts, spirit tastings, cooking classes, ladies nights… and much more!

THE LITTLE PRINCE BY ANTOINE DE SAINT EXUPERY’S  – is being presented in two very different exhibitions during this Voilah! 2015 celebration.

The Alliance Française will hold The Little Prince in the Dark Exhibition open to the public from May 7th through June 20th where one will use their sense of touch to discover this well-known story.  This unique exhibition in the dark is complemented by an audio version of the story, which will be available in Chinese, English and French.

While The Fullerton Hotel East Garden Foyer Gallery will host The Little Prince Collection of 14 hand-painted sculptures representing the major characters from The Little Prince.  These sculptures are created by artist Arnaud Nazareth-Aga and PAJ’s Art Studio and are on display for the first time in Singapore from May 6th through May 31st (Gallery and sculptures open to public on May 7th).  The sculptures will be presented alongside a display of rare manuscripts, letters and first-edition books from the private collection of the Antoine de Saint Exupéry Youth Foundation.

PLANET OCEAN @ GARDENS BY THE BAY – get a glimpse of the oceans through the lens of world-renowned photographers Yann Arthus-Bertrand and Brian Skerry in the breathtaking exhibition Planet Ocean. Opening on Friday 8th May through Sunday, 28th May, the Planet Ocean Exhibition includes breath-taking aerial images by Yann while these are exhibited alongside underwater scenes by Skerry This unique journey will take visitors on a journey along the oceans and the environmental and socio-economic issues they face.

At The Colonnade daily until 11pm

EARTH FILM CYCLE – In conjunction with World Environment Day, enjoy outdoor film screenings of Oceans, Microcosmos, and Once Upon a Forest.  Guests will be invited to make a donation for the Garden City Fund. More information about this foundation on www.gardencityfund.org.

FÊTE DE LA MUSIQUE –  enjoy music presentations at various locations (see schedule below).  Fête de la Musique is also known as International Music Day and is the annual worldwide music festival which marks the beginning of summer around the world (21st June).

This event marks the closing of Voilah! 2015 with a jazz concert by the SWS City Swing at the Botanic Gardens.
