THE MIDAS TOUCH OF DANIEL SIA EMBOLDENS THE CULINARY REPERTOIRE OF HARRY’S BAR

The requirements of our taste for food and beverages have become more diverse as more cultures come together and intermingle. Singapore’s favorite local bar, Harry’s, has commissioned their Culinary Director, Daniel Sia, to transform its menu selection into a welcoming bar and dining destination with classy and contemporary interior décor.

Harry’s Bar unveiled its tweaked menu at its Marina Bay Link Mall outlet, showcasing their updated menu that consists of small plates, big plates, platters and desserts, laden with Harry’s international offerings infused with a gourmet touch. Harry’s stocks of extensive variety of alcohol and premium wine, spirits and beers will continue the nostalgia of Harry’s legacy.

Harry’s Love Me Tandoor

You must start with the obligatory Harry’s Wingmen ($8 for 4 pieces; $11 for 6 pieces), which have been spiced up with Daniel Sia’s interpretation of Harry’s old classic. Love Me Tandoor ($18) will make you swoon with its eastern charm of yoghurt-marinated chicken skewers. These are Harry’s moreish small plates, suitable to either inducing your gastronomic juices or to spice-up your after-work beer fest with Harry’s Premium Lager.

The big plates offer a full-on dining experience with Harry’s dining standards. And of course, Daniel Sia’s Midas Touch has graced a few of my favorites – Curried Lamb Shank ($29) served with fragrant jasmine rice pilaf and raisins; and Prawn Star Pasta ($19) served in aglio oglio with spaghettini tossed in an umami mélange of homemade crustacean oil, seaweed and fresh tiger prawns.

Harry's Mushrooms & Truffle Oil

If you happen to hit Harry’s Bar with an armada of colleagues or friends, you may also consider the generous platter dishes. The stand-out of the platters was the Mushroom and Truffle Oil Flatbread ($16-24) carved from Daniel Sia’s culinary repertoire with his proprietary aioli spread.

Harry's Black Forest Sundae

Harry's Apple & Pear Crumble

If you were dining with your date at Harry’s, the revamped décor and ambiance will surely set the night on fire.  You may further sweeten your dinner date with Harry’s desserts – their decadently deconstructed Black Forest Sundae ($16) or warmly moistened Apple & Pear Crumble. True to its intention, Harry’s has put its stamp on my top ten restaurants, for both casual night out for drinks and unpretentious dining experience. Located within the grand plaza of the MBFC building, the Marina Bay Link Mall outlet is THE place to dine in, be pampered by its lush, chic décor, or to dine al fresco and soak up the lure of the urban jungle with the Marina Bay spanning across the horizon at night fall.
