Vegas Over/Under: 28.5
The Record Projection: 28-54 of fromal The Bet: lean although Avoid under
It’s the 1 place for the Sacramento Kings if any over/under mark looks right on the money. But we will still lean ever so slightly toward the below, chiefly for reasons clarified by ESPN.com’s Kevin Pelton as he chased the Western Convention bottom-feeders to win just 27.4 games:
“Despite incorporating veterans Vince Carter, George Hill and Zach Randolph as free agents, the Kings are projected since the league’s second-worst offensive attack by RPM. Although this isn’t a part of this projection, few teams will have more incentive to improve their draft pick, as Sacramento won’t possess its first-rounder in 2019 because of trade.”
That incentive to tank is large, and it may not even be as impactful as the potential reduction of Randolph. Explaining a scenario that could soon apply to the veteran power forward, Ronald Tillery wrote for The Commerical Appeal:”The team’s collective bargaining agreement with the players’ association says a player is going to be dismissed and disqualified from the NBA when he’s convicted of, or pleads guilty, no contest or nolo contendere to, a crime involving the prosecution distribution of marijuana.”
more minutes would be push on by losing Randolph upon the Kings’ collection of inexperienced players. And that’s the subject of this roster, as management has done a praiseworthy job of establishing their coffers after the departure of DeMarcus Cousins.
That approach won’t turn into several wins.
